Kim Rudolph Artist bio 2010 Art Prize participant Master of Fine Arts with 35 years experience, in all fields of Art and Design. Self taught, Schooled, Minnesota graduate of Fine Arts /Design. National and international sales. Skilled to perfection in all forms of art and styling of fine art. Design, Painting, Drawing, Charcoal, Sculptor, Carver, Illustrator, Interior Design. Creativity is passion, my love for art and art history is the driving force to do sculpture reliefs. Adding a modern twist by incorporating the appearance of semi transparency on a solid form. One ex. although not yet done, would be the scarf on the lady of dance, bringing the dark background and the folds behind scarf, forward to be seen by the viewer. Its a passion of mine to create mystery within, causing the viewer to see not only its beauty but be stunned by its illusions and details. About the work Title: Lady of Dance, Art form: 2-D, Medium: plaster, Year created: 2011 Description of work: "Lady of Dance" is a life size sculpture relief, exquisite with its fine details and its lifelike transparency buried within the details of this solid form. Stunning in its overall beauty, flow of movement and its emotional effects on the viewer. It stands 8'h by 4'w including the framing, which also was hand carved by the artist. Due to the sheer size and weight of this piece, even though it was meant to be hung on a wall for its final touch beauty, it also can be made to free stand if that choice is more desirable. The sheer depth of this sculpture stands at its highest point 7-8 inches deep, and lowest a millimeter. It is not a casting, This is a original sculptured and carved art piece, painstakingly done by hand, years in the making. While photo's are good, it is impossible to capture all it's richness and illusions of transparencies. Its must to be viewed in person, to experience its power and beauty. Work not completed, months of carving to go.
