Shoulder and back anatomy. Artwork of a rear (posterior) view of muscles (red) and bones of the shoulder and upper back. The two main upper back muscles are the trapezius muscle (upper centre) and the latissimus dorsi muscle (lower left). At bottom left are the heads of the triceps brachii muscle of the upper arm. The head of the humerus (upper arm bone) and the acromion of the scapula (shoulder blade) meet at the shoulder joint (far left). At centre left is the infraspinatus muscle that lies on the posterior surface of the scapula. Partially seen below it are the teres minor and teres major muscles.
