PALMA, Spain (Sept. 11, 2017) Information Systems Technician 1st Class Jason Silva paints a wall at the Patronato Obrero de San Jose during a community relations project in Palma, Spain. During the event, chief petty officers (CPO) and CPO selectees painted and cleared out a garden bed at the facility. Bataan and its amphibious ready group are deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
