When treated intelligentlyand properly, the horse is the most tractable and serviceableof all the domestic animals; but if treated ignorantly orbadly, he is liable to become so vicious and unmanageableas to be comparatively if not wholly -worthless. While there is no lack of information and acceptedauthority on breeding, stabling, shoeing, driving, color, etc.,etc., as pertaining to horses, there is a singular lack ofauthority, or even intelligent understanding, on the art ofarts, namely, that of teaching, subduing, and changing thecharacter of wild or vicious horses, as desired.
