biggin Hill,UK,16th January 2017,The aeroplane, a Piper Archer 4-seater trainer/tourer, has been named ‘Julie – The Spirit of BCAL’ in celebration of the life of Julie Washington, a former British Caledonian staff member who passed away last year and was cared for at the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care Centre. Julie’s husband Robin and son Robert have donated the aeroplane that has been repainted in the livery of British Caledonian with the iconic ‘golden lion rampant’ on the rudder fin . The aircraft will be used to train budding pilots of the future and will assist in raising funds for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care and the Golden Lion Children’s Trust charities©Keith Larby/Alamy Live News
