The fruits are of the most beautiful dark golden yellow color, as round as a ball and about as large as a walnut. Flavor is exceptionally fine, and we have no doubt they will prove a most desirable variety for eating from the hand as a desert fruit. They are a new sort however, in England, and we were able to obtain only a small quantity of seed, but it is so desirable that we thought best to offer it to our customers this year rather than delay its introduction to another season. In packets of thirty seeds 15c. each, two packets for 25c, ten packets for $ NEW CUMBERLAND CUCUMBER For several years past Mr. C. P. Coy, the vet- eran seed grower has been at work trying toper- feet a cross between the Peerless White Spine and Japanese Climbing Cucumber, and he has finally succeeded in attaining this very superior sort, which he calls the Cumberland. It is a hardy, rapid, vigorous grower, and one of the most prolific varieties that we know of. The pickles differ from all other sorts in being thickly set with fine spines over the entire surface ex- cept the extreme stem end. They are excep- tionally straight and symmetrical, and the flesh is crisp and tender, so that we are safe in calling it the best pickling cucumber on the market. Our seed is grown for us by Mr. Coy and is therefore pure, and we are sure it will please all cucumner growers. This is the first year that it has been offered by any seedsman.
