The purplish flowers are borne in a dense ra- ceme (at the summit of a stem) one to two feet high. HEIHEROCALLIS. Day Lily. 25 cts. each. Natives of eastern Europe and Asia. The long, linear leaves are all radical, and the trumpet-shaped flowers are borne on a scape from two to four feet high. H. flava. (Yellow Day Lily.) An ornamental plant of no small pretensions.
