the Campile Memorial and garden, commemorating the 1940 bombing of the village by Nazi Germany, Campile, Co Wexford, Eire.


The garden commemorates the 70th Anniversary of the bombing of the Shelburne Agriculture Co-operation Society on 26 August 1940 by Nazi-Germany. Three women died during this attack. The German Ambassador attended the opening of a memorial sculpture garden in Campile on 28 August 2010. The sculpture garden was a joint project between the German sculptor Anika Lintermann and Ciarán O'Brien, an Irish sculptor from Wexford.
