Wanara Wana Monky Keeper, Sacred Monkey Forest, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia


These monkeys are Balinese Macaques, or long-tailed macaques. They are found in many places throughout Indonesia and especially in the temples and hilly areas of the island of Bali. Monkeys are very important in Balinese culture. These photos were taken in the sacred monkey forest sanctuary, Mandala Wisata Wenara Wana, in the town of Ubud, Bali, inhabit the three Holy Monkey Temples on the site, Pura Dalem Agung, Utama Mandala and Pura Prajapati.
