The progress of Queens Borough, prior to 1915-1917, when the new rapidtransit extensions were placed into operation, was remarkable despite the lackof cheaper transit facilities. What it will be in the next ten to twenty yearswith transit facilities equal, and, in many cases superior, to every other section ofNew York City, will surprise even the most confident. These new rapid transit extensions are now serving as an outlet for thecongested population of Manhattan.
