There were hundreds of these fruit about,but Mahommed, who had great local botanicalknowledge, advised me not to eat them becausetheir poison was deadly, and we did not care toexperiment in order to test the accuracy of hisstatement. All along this Robat-Nushki route one finds agreat many Mesjids (or Masit^ as the word ispronounced by the Beluch). The Mesjid orMasit is a sort of temporary praying spot wheregood Mussulmans say their prayers at sunrise orsunset, and answers the purpose—if one may beallowed the expression—of an open-air mosque !The
