On August 27 pro-ceeded to the front line by auto truck, wherewe arrived on the 29th, and were initiated by agas attack in Vosges Moimtains, on Lorainsector, and were in the trenches for forty-twodays until October 11, when we returned to restbillets at Verdun until October 26, at whichtime we were taken in a train to Grand Pre,arriving November 3.
