This Volkswagen Touareg won the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge for autonomous vehicles by driving itself over a 130 mile course with no human assistance and finishing first. The vehicle was a joint venture between the Volkswagen Electronics Research Laboratory and the Stanford University Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.
