METASTASIS
Representation of the propagation of the metastases into the body. Here the tumor has triggered the angiogenesis (development of blood vessels towards the tumor that will enable the latter to feed and oxygenate). These neovessels also give the possibility to the tumor to spread tumoral cells (metastases) towards other parts of the body via the blood network that will be able to develop new cancerous sites.
