It's a bitterly cold winter morning, but you can see all sorts of rowing on this stretch of the river, at all times of year. Not a lot of folk know that the Oxfordshire part of the Thames is called 'Isis'. This alarming name is actually derived from the ancient name of the entire River Thames - 'Tamesis'. Not a lot of people know Long before paddle boarding, folk were rowing whilst standing up. This style of rowing is always refered to as Venetian - or 'Voga Veneta'. So there.
