If the weather is favorable the seed should be sown in April, in rows 18 inches apart, and the seedlings thinned to stand a foot apart for White Giant, and 6 to 8 inches apart for other sorts. They are fit for use when 3 or 4 inches in diam- eter. For late crops, sow seeds in June or July. An ounce of seed will produce about 2,500 plants. VERY EARLY VIENNA. The earliest sort.
