A field training exercise demonstration was held March 27, 2019, near Tan Tan, Morocco, as part of exercise African Lion 2019. The demonstration coincided with a visit from Maj. Gen. Roger L. Cloutier, the Army Africa commanding general, and Moroccan Maj. Gen. Belkhir El Farouk, the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces chief of the Southern Zone Headquarters. The visit included combined military demonstrations of tactical air-assault techniques, forward-observer tactics, and firing of various weapons systems.
