The Board of Trade, at its «ext meet- ing, will again take up the matter of better fire protection for the business houses in the downtown district. They advocated the installation of the high pressure water gy^tem last year, but met with defeat at the hands of the commissioners of the District of Colum- bia, who would not sanction the ex- penditure of the ' necessary amounts, possibly because of the fact that the installation would have little effect on present insurance rates.
