There are several stories of the finger size sausage origins, In medieval times, due to its small size, the sausage was passed through a prison door keyhole to feed the inmates in their cells at the city’s medieval dungeon, the Mittelalterliche Lochgefängnisse (medieval hole prison). The museum is open to the public.
