All wrinkled varieties are sown in the same manner, but the gardener must wait until all danger of frost has passed or otherwise the wrinkled seeds will rot. All varieties over 2 feet do better with support. Smooth-Seeded Extra-Early Sorts The hardiest sorts to be planted as soon as the soil can be put in condition. 618 Alaska. A very early, smooth-seeded Pea very popular with home gardeners and canners. The vines grow about 2 feet tall and bear an abundance of light green pods measuring 2| inches in length and containing 6 light green peas each.
