The Broch of Gurness is an Iron Age broch village on the northwest coast of Mainland Orkney in Scotland, strikingly positioned beside Eynhallow Sound with views across to the island of Rousay. The remains of the central tower are up to metres ( ft) high, and the stone walls are up to metres ( ft) thick. The broch and has the remains of a settlement surrounding and adjoining it, considered to be the best-preserved broch village in Scotland.
