A mother and her daughter enter the Lotus Super Center Bankapi which is decorated with decorations and advertisements for Christmas, on Lat Phrao Road. Thailand is predominantly Buddhist so Christmas is not an official holiday, but the country manages to embrace the Sanuk (enjoyment) of this festive period and give it a distinctly Thai twist. There is also the obvious commercial aspect which Thai retailers and advertisers have been quick to exploit Christmas as a marketing tool.
