Caudal peduncle IJ times as long as deep. 30-31 scales in longitudinal series, 22-24 round body in front of ventrals; lateral line indicated by an interrupted series of pits. Male brown, with dark edges to the scales ; dorsal fin dark purplish brown ; anal and caudal purplish broAvn, with a whitish band across the middle. Female lighter and uniformly coloured.
