A helmet for horsemen of the National Guard, model of 1814 - 1820. Two-piece, black painted leather skull with silvered copper fittings, the screw-affixed emblem with a crowned lily appliqué. The high comb is likewise silvered and in fine relief with a black fur crest. Chinscales with velvet underlay and lacing, the rosettes likewise with a lily symbol. Silver-trimmed leather peak, the leather liner with slight damage. With a non-original white hair brush. Signs of usage and age. Height ca. 34 cm. Cf.
