'City Hall park, New York - It seems impossible that this triangular plot of ground, which now resembles an island surrounded by a tumultuous, roaring flood of human life, was at the time of the Revolution an open field outside the town! Here, as on Boston Common, public meetings used to be held in the open air, and here Alexander Hamilton first addressed his fellow citizens' (1895). Artist/photographer: Unsigned.
