Rockbridge Hall Schools TAILBY, Wellettley, Mass. Long Distance Wellesley 44-1, 44-2, 44-3 Russell, Sunburst and Taft all made good prices, but the more common roses made practically no advance, going at from $2 to $12 per hundred. Only fancy flowers reached the higher prices and after the blizzard struck prices came down with a thud. Carnations sold quite well, as they were off crop with many growers. Prices varied from $4 to $6 per hundred. Few reached the high price and a lot had to be cleared below $4. Single violets made prac- tically their adieu. Good stock realized $1; a poorer grade, 75 cents. Doubles made similar prices. Sweet peas were abundant at 35 cents to $1 per hundred. Some select flowers made more. Bulbous flowers cleaned up well. Golden Spurs made $2, Victorias $2 to $, Princeps and ornatus $1 to $ per hundred; also doubles. Murillo tulips made $ to $3; other varieties $ to $, There were a few Span- ish iris and Gladiolus nanus. The best pink snapdragon realized $ to $2 per dozen, but poorer grades and other col- ors sold lower. Callas and lilies made $8 to $10 per hundred, valley $2 and $3. Stocks and schizanthus were hard to sell. English primroses made $2 per dozen bunches. Cattleyas were in quite short supply and made $5 per dozen. Gardenias were abundant. There was a large surplus of flowers on the wholesale markets when the doors closed April 3. April 5 saw much of the snow gone and the bulk disap- peared during the day. The market was not at all go
