Advert for Celotex door panels The Practical Householder magazine, 1956, This British publication billed itself as: The National Do-it-yourself Magazine and combined the new modern era style with DIY ethics in the post-war austerity era. These door panels were designed to cover up the then unfashionable Victorian paneled doors that many houses contained - many later home owners spent time and money to remove these panels when the fashion for retaining original period features returned. Celotex made many insulation materials, fibreboard, foam board, and polystyrene ceiling tiles. Celotex were based in Stonebridge Park, London, NW 10 in the UK.
