Tomb of Cyrus the Great with sun flare, Pasargadae, Iran

Cyrus the great (576-530 BC) was the founder of the Achaemenid Empire, the largest empire the world had yet seen to that time. His famous proclamation, inscribed onto Cyrus Cylinder, is said to be the oldest known declaration of human rights. The tomb of Cyrus the Great, built c530 BC, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's first example of a base isolated structure. The tomb has two foundations. During an earthquake, when the earth moves, the base foundation moves, and the upper part glides freely on its base. Amazingly this was built around 530 BC to withstand a Richter scale 7 earthquake.
