Roadkill - Dead Squirrel
It is always surprising to see a squirrel dead on the road. Usually, they have incredible reflexes, but perhaps this one was distracted or mesmerised by car headlights. Although the red squirrel is no longer common in the UK, having been superseded by the grey squirrel, it is easy to tell from this one that the red squirrel has not been destroyed by the grey, but may have been outbred by it.
