Navet. Nabo. RED-TOP STRAP-LEAF Culture.—For early Turnips sow as soon as ground opens in spring. Nos. 1766 to'1774 should be sown from any time in July to first of August; but the other kinds, for winter use, may be sown from middle of July to end of August. Turnips are generally sown broadcast, but much larger crops are obtained (particularly of the Ruta-Bagas) by cultivating in drills 18 inches apart, and thinning to 6 inches in the drill.
