They settled on 500 acres of land, 200of which are owned by our subject, John E spent his entire life as a farmer He mar-ried Catherine Hamlin, who was born ^ Massachu-setts in 1790. and was a sister of Judge Butler Ham-lin mentioned elsewhere. Horace Lee died in Sep-tember, 1867, aged seventy-five years, and his wite,who was a consistent member of the Methodist Epis-copal Church, passed away in December, 1869. agedseventy-seven, both being laid to rest in CanaanCorners cemetery, Wavne county. Politically, hewas a stanch supporter of the Democratic party. Uttheir children. Eliza lived with our subject until herdeath which occurred in 1891 ; Remanda L. married.
