German Moehren. For the successful cultivation of this root the soil should be ligat (sandy toil is best) and deeply tilled. For an early crop the seed should be sown as early as the ground can be properly worked. For later crops it may be sown any time until about the middle of June. Sow in rows about 15 inches Guerande, or Oxheart Carrot. Guerande, or Oxheart Carrot—A variety with short, thick roots, the diameter often ex- ceeding trie length.
