Members of the Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames leave the churchyard of All Hallows by the Tower in London, during the Knolly's Rose Ceremony. The ceremony, which dates back to 1381, sees a peppercorn rent of a single rose being paid annually to the Lord Mayor, after soldier Sir Robert Knollys of Seething Lane built an illegal footbridge over the road to his rose garden.
