Man looking at the 54 million year old fossiiised leaf beds on the Isle of Mull in Scotland. The bands of fossilised leaf mould are made up of the leaves which fell into a lake from prehestoric trees which were growing in this area. Year after year they built up between layers of mud and sand to eventually form rock.
