Sand sculptures during the carving, every afternoon, are sprayed with adhesive glue to keep shape for longer period of time.
Every Year (since 2007), a group of artists from all over the world starts carving sand sculptures on Beach in Gdansk Jelitkowo. This year, a group of 31 sculptors was working with 16 sand sculptures which were showing the most significant architecture landmarks of City of Gdansk. Sixteen sculptures were carved from profesionally prepared blocks of sand mixed, clay and adhesive glue. There was prepared over 3000tons of sand mixture to create this wonderful exhibit. During the long creation process (few weeks), sand sculputres must be conserved to keep shape. Thats why, at the end of every day sculpturers are spraying their work with mixture of special, adhesive glue. This helps to keep they work in shape for really long time.
