Eoses are somewhat scarce still, Killarneys hav- ing dropped out of the list almost en- tirely. Orchids are coming in again. There are some fine gloxinias for sale, and Primula obconica has made its ap- pearance. Various Notes. The Market Gardeners' Association of North America will hold its fifth annual convention in this city, Sep- tember 4 to 6. The sessions will be held in Convention hall. There will be an exhibition of gardening implements, greenhouse fixtures, etc., and also a large display of fruits and vegetables. The Market Gardeners' Association of Irondequoit will have entire charge of the arrangements for the convention. John Hall, president of the Western New York Horticultural Society, is to be one of the principal speakers at the banquet, to be held at Powers hotel, September 5. Word has been received from Horace Head, formerly with H. E. Wilson, but now in England. He is planning to re- turn to Eochester sometime in Septem- ber. Great interest is being taken in the coming exhibition of fruits and veg- etables at the Industrial Exposition, which is to be opened September 14.
