Teeth sharp and pointed, with serrated carinae; anteriorly subcir- cular in section, but posteriorly much compressed laterally. Sculpture of scutes radiate. Forms referred to this genus have been obtained from the Lower Mesozoic of Europe, N. America, and India3. Phytosaurus cylindricodon, Jager4. Syn. Phytosaurus cubicodon, Jager5.
