Rear facade and garden of the noble palace Ferrero de Gubernatis Ventimiglia in the centre of the coastal town of Alassio, Savona, Liguria, Italy


The main street of Alassio, called "budello", is sometimes interrupted by elegant squares overlooked by some of the most important historical buildings, such as Palazzo Ferrero de Gubernatis Ventimiglia, dating back to the eighteenth century. According to historical sources here stayed Napoleon Bonaparte during the French occupation at the end of the eighteenth century.
