After they are finished, the lacedetail is detached from the underlying pattern bycutting the thread between the black paper andsupporting cloth, the fine thread which in thebeginning attached the outlining strand. Thereremains only to join the separate details of thepattern by a very fine stitch called the pointinvisible.
