A large shrub ; flowers cup-shaped, dark purple Avithout and while within. Purpurea— ( Purple Flozveriui:^.) Darker and shorter leaves than the preceding ; flowers are outside dark purple, shaded to white at the apex, and inside white ; a very desirable shrub. Acuminata—( Lncioiiher Tree.) Fruit resembles, before ripe, a small cucumber ; beautiful, regular conical shape, glossy leaves ; flowers medium size, greenish-yellow, bell-shaped.
