XIV. The next discovery was a new species of flower, which was instantly named after Rosys mamma ; and some specimens were preserved to show to the learned men on their return home. I supposethe flower starves, and gets too thirsty to livewhen it is broken off the stem, and that it cantbear heat so well when it has nothing to drink.
