Funeral Decorations for King Louis XVI of France, Pen and brown ink, brush and brown wash on paper, Vertical rectangle. A variation of 1938-88-1303, the door frame being somewhat similar to 1938-88-1337. The panels beside the door openings are decorated with a festoon supported by lion masks. The pedestal is shorter and has a greater diameter. In the acroteria are heads. On top is a classical warrior raising with his left hand a chalice with the Host above. Alternative suggestions are made for the candelabra.
