Watford's annual Whitsun Carnival parade, St Albans Road, Hertfordshire, England, UK, 1967, rear of a yellow Scammell 'Townsman' low-loader flatbed truck bearing the British Railways logo women with balloons promote British Railways London to Manchester train service, banner on side of truck states: Try our new trains and a journey time of 2 hours and 35 minutes. Above signs say: Faster, Cleaner by train. Scammell Lorries was a local Watford company and the company's distinctive 3 wheel low loaders were a common sight on British roads in the sixties. The Townsman replaced the famous Scarab in 1967 and the new model featured a glass fibre body to its cab. In front of the tuck is another vehicle in the procession promoting the Volunteer Emergency Service.
