Asters are better, and as they now rule the market the change is noticeable. New crop American Beauty roses also afford relief, as there is something to offer customers without apology. There are, fair Maryland and Taft roses. Quite a number of Kaiserin are also seen. White and Pink Killarney show a little improve- ment. Easter lilies, lily of the valley and gladoli of good quality are a trifle ahead of the demand. NOTES. The question of the International Flower Show is uppermost in the local flower trade. A committee of "live wires" visited Convention Hall to pass on its desirability for this purpose, and all were unanimous that with com- paratively little money it could be made a much more desirable building than any in which the exhibition has so far been held. The hall is the larg- est of its kind in this country, having seating capacity for 25,000 people. The building is but one story in height and covers an entire city block. The large gallery will give a fine bird's- eye view of the display below. With this matter settled there is no doubt that strong efforts will be made to bring the next exhibition here. The M. Rice Co. shipped an order of 1,000 tumbler baskets to a retail florist the past week. They are hav- ing a great trade in this quick sellmg line. Many who put in a small line find them great business bringers and will push them the coming season. New crop Amercian Beauty roses are now a leader with the Leo Niessen Co, which is receiving many more
