North Carolina Army National Guard Soldiers board a C-17 Globemaster III Aircraft belonging to the 145th Airlift Wing during the Wings very first C-17 mission to Pope Army Airfield, while at Pope Army Airfield, Fayetteville North Carolina, August 1, 2018. The mission to Pope Field is the first of what is hoped to be many, by October the 145th Airlift Wing plans to begin supporting Airdrop missions with weekly flights to Pope Field, picking up Soldiers and Cargo for regular Airborne operations. The soldiers on this trip are being transported to Fort Bliss Texas for annual training.
