Six-Lined Skink (Cnemidophorus sexlineatus) [Slightly reduced] Six-Lined Lizards possess a remarkable grace and attractive coloring, especially the males, whose under-sides are barred with brilliant metallic blue, carried partly up on the side, adding to the sleek, corseted effect of the animal. They are native to the South- eastern States. No lizards should be caught or picked up by the tail, as they will purposely lose them in order to escape the hold. 146.
