Dancers from Monteblanco, Veracruz state, perform the Santiagos dance (Saint James dance) in front of the statue of pope John Paul II outside the Our Lady of Guadalupe Basilica in Mexico City, December 9, 2011. Hundreds of thousands of Mexican pilgrims converged on the Basilica, bringing images to be blessed, as processions filled the streets for the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Virgin of Guadalupe is the patron saint of the Americas.
