A signed photograph of Princess Margaret (right) and Princess Elizabeth (second from right) in the play Aladdin, 1943

A signed photograph of Princess Margaret (right) and Princess Elizabeth (second from right) in the play Aladdin, 1943, at the Royal School, Windsor, from the combined archive of Mr and Mrs Hubert Tannar and Cyril Woods, on auction at Dominic Winter auctioneers, South Cerney, Gloucestershire. A archive of rarely seen photographs of the young Queen in the Royal family's Christmas pantomime are set to fetch thousands of pounds at auction. Princess Elizabeth was 15 and Princess Margaret just 11 when the pair starred in their first panto, Cinderella, in the lavish Waterloo Chamber in Windsor Castle in December 1941. The candid signed photographs of the performance were carefully bound away in amazing scrap books - alongside scripts, programmes and a hoard of personal letters - by their friend and fellow thespian Cyril Woods. The pristine portraits include Princess Elizabeth as the handsome Prince in Sleeping Beauty - with Margaret as Fairy Thistledown - and the young Queen taking the leading role in Aladdin.
