The Levee Room in Regent Murray’s House, as seen from the garden with the remarkable thorn planted by Queen Mary, engraved by J. B. Allen. This is from an engraving dating from 1832 made from a watercolour drawing by Thomas H. Shepherd (1793-1864). At the time, 1832, William IV was king, some five years before Queen Victoria ascended to the throne. This and others which I have in the series were used to illustrate the architectural likenesses between Athens and Edinburgh (Scotland) and its environs at the time.
