The Devil's Golf Course is a large salt pan on the floor of Death Valley. It is an immense area of rock salt eroded by wind and rain into jagged spires. So incredibly serrated that "only the devil could play golf on such rough links” (hence the name). If you listen carefully, you'll hear sounds like tiny pops and pings -- the sound is literally billions of tiny salt crystals bursting apart as they expand and contract in the heat. Devil’s Golf Course is located in the Death Valley National Park, California, United States. It is the largest national park in the contiguous United States, as well as the hottest, driest, and lowest of all the national parks in the US.
